What is I Know What You Did Last Summer about?

I Know What You Did Last Summer is a gripping tale that follows a group of friends who commit an unexpected crime. The group of friends end up in a fatal car accident, but end up covering it up and now have to live with the dark secret. 

But things go further south for the group, as a brutal killer now stalks them, a year after the accident. The group now has to try and uncover the hidden secrets, and find out who the killer is, all while also revealing the dark secrets of the town.

What is the TV series based on?

The series is based on the 1972 novel and the 1997 movie, both of the same name. The book, which was for young adults, was written by Lois Duncan. The slasher film based on the book was directed by Jim Gillespie. The film also drew inspiration from other slasher movies of the time as well as The Hook, an urban legend. 

Though the film received mixed reviews, it became a commercial success and also had two sequels released titled I Still Know What You Did Last Summer (1998) and I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer (2006).

I Know What You Did Last Summer returns once again with big hopes, with horror genre maestro James Wan on board as the executive producer. The filmmaker will look to serve a cold dish with scares and screams as sides, which is his trademark.

The show has an ensemble cast consisting of Madison Iseman, Bill Heck, Brianne Tju, Ezekiel Goodman, Ashley Moore, Sebastian Amoruso, Fiona Rene, Cassie Beck, and Brooke Bloom.

When will I Know What You DId Last Summer release?

The series is set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on October 15, and will look to darken the Halloween celebrations this year.
