I Love Us is gearing up to conclude its second season in style. The popular romantic drama web series has amassed quite a huge fan following ever since its release in July this year. The show is set to give their fans the finale they deserve, with a special Karva Chauth episode.
I Love Us follows the story of a lesbian couple, Richa and Neha, who fall in love and navigate the ups and downs of their relationship. The series took viewers through the beginnings of their relationship, and at the end of the second season, the two are all set to embark on the next chapter of their life- getting married.
The makers revealed that the final two episodes of the show’s ongoing second season will see the couple finally have their much awaited wedding, following which the two will spend their first Karwa Chauth as well. According to the makers, I Love Us will be the first Indian web series to showcase a lesbian wedding on screen.
The series was directed by Deepak Pandey. In a statement, the director opened up about his reason for helming the show. Saying that he wanted to be the ‘voice of reason’, he said that he always had a dream of doing something to bring about positive change in society. He revealed that he felt sorry for the LGBTQIA+ community in India, and questioned why society does not accept them.
“That's how I thought I would tell the stories and aim to create an awareness in the society. Karva Chauth as per Indian traditions is celebrated between a married couple. And that's exactly what you see in our web show as well. It's about two lovers, both females deciding to marry and spend their lives together”, said Deepak.
The series stars Roaleey Ryan and Supyaarde Singh in lead roles.
