Arun Vijay, who is awaiting the release of Yaanai, which will hit the screens on July 1, expressed how he would love to do more projects in Bollywood and work with filmmakers Rajkumar Hirani, Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Rohit Shetty.
The actor said he had a great time shooting for Saaho and Bollywood fans loved his character. "I cannot wait to do another project here. I would love to work with the likes of Rajkumar Hirani, Sanjay Leela Bansali and Rohit Shetty in Bollywood."
The actor added he had seen all of their films. "They have an eye for amazing content and together we can surely bring something entertaining and huge for the Indian audiences."
Having started his career in 1995, Arun Vijay did about 18 films till 2015 and some of which did well and some of which did not—then, the Ajith-starrer Yennai Arindhaal happened. In an interview with the Hindu, Arun said he realised that he was missing out on his core strength, and was trying to get influenced by what other people were telling him. He’s since had a string of successful films including Kuttram 23 and Chekka Chivantha Vaanam.
Now that he has worked with directors like Gautham Menon and Mani Ratnam, he's more confident. "I don’t believe I’m in an image trap. I simply want to explore my abilities. I don’t want to stick to a genre. But action, I believe, is my forte, and I don’t want to let go of it as I don’t think many can pull it off. I have some way to go to prove myself in that genre," Arun said, in an interview with Cinema Express.
Up next, he has an interesting line-up of films, including Borrder, Sinam, and Agni Siragugal, among others.
