Virat Kohli's cricketing prowess and dedication have earned him praise from fans and critics alike, but it was West Indies legend Ian Bishop's recent comments that truly resonated with the fans.

Known for his exceptional fitness and swift running between the wickets, Kohli showcased his determination in the 72nd over of the match. Alongside his partner Ravindra Jadeja, Kohli went for what appeared to be an easy two runs.

However, as he turned for the second run, he realized the fielder's throw was coming in fast, putting his wicket in jeopardy. Undeterred, Kohli executed a full-stretched dive to complete the run safely.

Ian Bishop, witnessing the extraordinary display of commitment, couldn't contain his excitement and leapt out of his seat. The former West Indies pacer hailed Kohli's unwavering "desperation" on the field, even though he has already achieved numerous accolades throughout his career.

"Absolutely superb. That's the sort of desperation you love to see incorporated in your batting and batsmanship. This is a Test match. You sometimes see guys doing this in desperation in a one-day or white-ball scenario, but here is a guy who has been around for 500 international games and in a Test match, knows the value of every run. Putting his body on the line and diving to make sure he's in. That tells you how badly he wants whatever he gets out of this innings," Bishop said as play was stopped momentarily.

During the match, there was a brief halt in play as Virat Kohli required treatment from the physio. After executing the dive, Kohli immediately signalled for the physio to attend to him. His jersey was in disarray, and it seemed that he might have aggravated his already-taped finger.

Ian Bishop, deeply impressed by Kohli's work ethic, expressed his admiration for the batter on the field. Bishop highlighted that he wishes to see young batters, both male and female, from the West Indies, emulate the greatness of Virat Kohli.

"I wish I could get every young batter in the Caribbean - male and female - running like that and not just sitting back waiting for boundaries. You know how much you can top up your scores but this sort of intensity... I have seen a number of batters not desperate enough to dive and commit themselves like that. This is a good example," added the former Windies quickly.
