Identity release update – Tovino Thomas, Trisha Krishnan’s film to hit theatres during Onam 2024?

Identity release update: The upcoming Malayalam film that stars Tovino Thomas in the lead role is currently nearing the final stages of its production. The highly anticipated project, which is helmed by the Forensic fame director duo Akhil Paul and Anas Khan, is touted to be an out-and-out crime thriller. Trisha Krishnan, the popular actress, is set to make a comeback to Malayalam cinema with the film. Reportedly, Identity is now gearing up for an Onam 2024 release.

Tovino Thomas, Trisha’s Identity to get an Onam 2024 release?

If the recent updates are to be believed, the makers of Identity are now planning to release the film in September 2024, coinciding with the Onam season of 2024. According to the rumour mills, the crime thriller is set to take the Onam 2024 slot after the release of leading man Tovino Thomas’ other much-awaited film, Ajayante Randam Moshanam, was pushed further. However, the makers of the crime thriller have not officially confirmed these reports yet.

In that case, Identity has all the possibilities to hit the big screens on September 12 or 13, during the Onam weekend. The crime thriller is reportedly gearing up to have a pan-Indian release in five languages, including Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi. In that case, Akhil Paul and Anas Khan’s film will mark the big comeback of Tovino Thomas in the pan-Indian space and might act as a perfect game-starter before the release of his ambitious film, Ajayante Randam Moshanam.

Trisha Krishnan replaced Madonna Sebastian in Identity

The movie, which is touted to be a unique thriller made in three parts, reportedly features Tovino Thomas in a never-seen-before role. Trisha Krishnan is said to be playing an equally important character in the film, which is jointly scripted by directors Anas Khan and Akhil Paul. For the uninitiated, Madonna Sebastian was originally supposed to play the female lead in the film. But the actress walked out of the project due to undisclosed reasons, and Trisha later came on board as the female lead. The movie also features Vinay Rai and Mandira Bedi in pivotal roles.
