Idly Kadai: Originally scheduled for an April 10 release, it has been pushed to October 1 due to competition from Good Bad Ugly

Idly Kadai, the next directorial from actor Dhanush, is loading, with the next schedule to begin in Bangkok. Actors Sathyaraj and R Parthiban have joined the schedule along with Arun Vijay. Idly Kadai is directed by Dhanush and also stars his Thiruchitrambalam co-star Nithya Menen.
Aadukalam actor Dhanush, who seems to be bitten by the direction bug, is on a spree to helm films. After making Pa Paandi, Raayan and NEEK, the actor is helming his fourth directorial titled Idly Kadai. The film’s shooting is happening at a brisk pace. In the latest, the Bangkok schedule is set to happen. Actors Parthiban and Sathyaraj will be shooting for the film, making them new entrants to the film’s casting.
Idly Kadai was scheduled to release on April 10. But the makers deferred the release after Good Bad Ugly starring Ajith also zeroed in on the same slot. Now, the Dhanush film is set to release on October 1.
Produced by Dawn Pictures in association with Wunderbar Films, Idly Kadai has music by GV Prakash Kumar and is expected to be a family drama. The technical crew of Idly Kadai consists of Kiran Koushik as the cinematographer and Prasanna GK handling the edits.
Idly Kadai marks Dhanush and Nithya Menen’s second film after Thiruchitrambalam. The film is available for streaming on SunNXT and OTTplay Premium. The film is directed by Mithran Jawahar and also features actors Raashii Khanna, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Prakash Raj, Bharathi Raja, and others.
The film revolves around a food delivery youth, Thiru, who carries a grudge against his father, as they share a home with the grandfather. As he runs out of luck in romance, he has his best friend, Shobana, by his side. The film won Nithya Menen a National Film Award.
