Idly Kadai first look OUT: Dhanush reunites with THIS veteran actor

Dhanush, who is busy doing films in multiple languages, has taken up his passion for direction and helming two films simultaneously. While his film Nilavu Enmel Enadi Kobam is gearing up for February release, his third directorial film Idly Kadai had its first look released on Wednesday, January 1.

Starring Dhanush in the lead role, the film will also feature Nithya Menen, Samuthirakani, and others. The first look posters feature Dhanush standing aside veteran actor Raj Kiran.

It is interesting to note that Dhanush's maiden direction Pa Paandi also featured Raj Kiran in the lead role. However, while that film did not have the actors share the screen space, Idly Kadai is expected to have both actors have some combination scenes.

While in one poster, Dhanush is seen clad in a white shirt and dhoti as he carries groceries and a tiffin carrier, in the other poster, he is standing aside Raj Kiran. The posters tip us that the story is set against a village backdrop.

Idly Kadai release date

Idly Kadai is all set to hit theatres on April 10, 2025. Touted to be a family drama GV Prakash is scoring the music. Idly Kadai is backed by Dawn Pictures in association with Wunderbar Pictures. Others part of the technical crew consists of Kiran Koushik cranking the camera and Prasanna GK handling the edits.

Meanwhile, Idly Kadai is Dhanush’s fourth film as director. With romantic drama Pa Pandi and gangster action thriller Raayan already released, Dhanush is expecting the release of Nilavuku En Mel Ennadi Kobam, a romantic drama set to release on February 7. It will soon follow up with Idly Kadai on April 10.

Dhanush is also working on films like Kubera with director Sekhar Kammula, an Ilaiyaraaja biopic with Arun Matheswaran, and a Hindi film titled Tere Ishq Mein with Aanand L Rai.
