Alex Wolff, who has recently made a big impression on Oppenheimer as Luis Walter Alvarez, will be next seen in a physiological thriller, If She Burns. The movie is about a fiery young woman, who travels to Europe with her dysfunctional family after a traumatic incident. There she finds refuge and danger in a turbulent affair with her enigmatic neighbour, which, along with increasing family tensions and mysterious wildfires, threaten to push her to breaking point.
Alex Wolff's previous directorial
It was previously reported that Wolff will star in the movie along with Victoria Pedretti, Asa Butterfield and Justice Smith. Now the latest news is, he has been chosen as the director as well. This is the 2nd movie Alex will be directing at the American market. Back in 2019, he both directed and starred in The Cat and The Moon.
About Wolff's taking up If She Burns
Currently If She Burns is in pre-production stage and is scheduled to release in 2024. The news is confirmed by the production house, Mister Smith Entertainment CEO, David Garrett. ”Alex’s distinctive taste and vision as a director is reflected in the projects he has been involved in to date.” he shared to THR, “For If She Burns, he assembled a fascinating and talented young cast who are all currently making their mark across trailblazing film and television. Alex’s script sizzles with erotic tension and promises to deliver an unsettling and mesmerising experience for the audience.”
However, there's no other exclusive news about If She Burns, other than Pedretti's playing the fiery woman and Wolff's playing the neighbour of her.
