This is a story of the ’60s set in a village in Burdwan. It deals with the rural supernatural folktales. Director Samman Roy made a full-length feature film on this theme. He has made several short films previously. The current film, The Exile, will be shown at the 54th Indian International Film Festival in Goa. Previously, Aditya Vikram Sengupta’s film Asha Jawar Majhe was shown here.

Samman told Anandabazar Online, “I am excited and elated. I feel good that the film will be shown there. I have been making short films for the last few years and this is my second full-length feature film. I hope people will like it.”

Arghya Roy, Arpita Dey, Adrita Dey, Soumya Majumdar, Ayan Roy, Pradip Roy, Kathakali Banerjee, and Pritam Debnath acted in the film. The director hopes that Bengali films will make their own place in the competition section of the film festival.
