IIFA 2022: Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan back on stage, to perform at the event in Abu Dhabi

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan are preparing to deliver a powerful performance at the 22nd International Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA) on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The Dasvi actor described the IIFA as a "family" to him. 

As per ANI, Abhishek stated that IIFA is like family to him, and it's great to be able to return and perform. Celebrations help them reconnect after being physically apart for more than two years. The actor is looking forward to the industry's reunion as the world comes together once more. And he's excited to entertain, interact, and connect with people all across the world.

Aishwarya expressed her delight at being a part of the IIFA. The actor is honoured to be a part of the 22nd edition of IIFA. Being a part of the IIFA Awards for many years has always been a wonderful experience. Without a doubt, it is the annual global event that both the Indian film industry and its supporters look forward to most.

Aishwarya was previously honoured as the 'Actress of the Decade' during the 10-year IIFA celebrations in Macau in 2009.

The star duo are well-known around the world, having attended the IIFA awards show on multiple occasions. Abhishek and Aishwarya's films, including Provoked, Yuva, and Sarkar, which premiered at IIFA, have gotten a lot of positive feedback.

However, one of the Bachchans' most memorable performances came at the 2011 IIFA, when Abhishek, Aishwarya, and megastar Amitabh Bachchan danced to the rhythms of the song Kajre Re from the film Bunty Aur Babli, which starred the three themselves. It was held in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. 

This year's IIFA will be hosted on June 2, 3, and 4 at Abu Dhabi's Etihad Arena, which is part of the Yas Bay Waterfront on Yas Island.
