IIFA Awards 2023: Abhishek Bachchan attends sans Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, here's why

The 23rd edition of the IIFA Awards 2023 has already commenced on May 26 in Abu Dhabi's Yas Island, while the main event is set to take place on May 27. This year, the Bollywood star-studded function is hosted by Abhishek Bachchan, while Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has decided to give it a miss due to her daughter Aaradhya Bachchan.

During a press conference, the Happy New Year actor was asked by the media about his wife and stunning actor's appearance, to which he replied that Aishwarya won't be available this year to attend as their daughter Aaradhya's school is reopened. 

The mother-daughter duo has recently attended the 76th Cannes Film Festival.

Along with Abhishek, Vicky Kaushal is also hosting the International Indian Film Academy Awards this time. The first day of the event has been graced by the Zara Hatke Zara Bachke actor along with Salman Khan, Nora Fatehi, Kriti Sanon and Nushrratt Bharuccha among others.

Meanwhile, another piece of news from the 23rd edition of IIFA is gathering attention. According to a video that surfaced on the internet, Salman's bodyguards can be seen pushing Vicky away to clear the path for the Dabangg actor. When asked by the media to respond about the same on the venue, the Raazi actor mentioned, "Things aren't the way they seem sometimes. People make a very small thing very huge but it isn't the way it looks. So, there's no point talking about it."

Apart from Vicky and Abhishek, Filmmaker Farah Khan and actor Rajkummar Rao are also set to host the event.
