Despite Dhurandhar’s strong hold on the box office even in its fourth week, Ikkis has grabbed eyeballs with its impressive first-day collection that was three times more than the early predictions. The movie also marks the last on-screen presence of Dharmendra, and fans have lined up in the theaters to witness their favourite legendary star one last time on the big screens. Sriram Raghavan's war film Ikkis traces the life of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, the youngest recipient of the Param Vir Chakra. Set in 1971 during the Indo-Pakistan battle, the movie features Agastya Nanda in the titular role, and Dharmendra plays his father. Simar Bhatia marked her Hindi film debut, and Jaideep Ahlawat appeared in a pivotal role. OTTplay’s review called it a beautiful anti-war film: “Ikkis is a masterfully restrained war drama that bravely prioritises humanity over hostility. Sriram Raghavan manoeuvres away from modern jingoism, instead delivering a poignant meditation on mutual respect across borders. While Agastya Nanda captures the youthful pulse of Arun Khetarpal’s legacy, the seasoned performances by Dharmendra and Jaideep Ahlawat give the film its soulful depth.”
Meanwhile, netizens on X (Twitter) called Ikkis a good start to 2026 and also hailed the performances of the cast with a solid narrative.
