Ikkis First Review Out: Agastya Nanda-Dharmendra's film has 'great deal of realism'

Ikkis stars Amitabh Bachchan's grandson, Agastya Nanda, late actor Dharmendra, Jaideep Ahlawat, and others. The film was originally scheduled to be released on December 25, 2025, but it has now been postponed and will be released in theatres on January 1, 2026. Ahead of the release, the makers held a special screening where Chief of the Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi attended and showered praise on Ikkis.

Chief of the Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi attended the special screening of Ikkis and showered praise on the film. “There is a great deal of realism in this film. I would also like to congratulate them because they have made such a good film that, speaking as a soldier, it felt as if one was actually living inside it,” he said.

Speaking more about Ikkis, the Army Chief praised the film's sensitive portrayal of human relationships, even in the context of conflict. He said that Ikkis goes 'beyond the conventional binaries of war and victory.' 

“The way they have portrayed the human relationships that exist between two countries, between two enemies, is remarkable,” he shared. 

Addressing the common perception that soldiers are emotionally detached from their personal lives due to the nature of their profession, the Army Chief further added, “A soldier lives separately, far away; people think he has no family, that he lives alone, but that is not true. He too has a family. He is just as emotional. He too has dreams. He too has desires."

A few days ago, Amitabh Bachchan also praised his grandson's film. He praised Agastya's maturity, his unfiltered honesty in his performance, and added that his presence justifying the character he portrays. "When he is in the frame you only watch him .. and this is not a grandfather speaking, this is a hardened viewer of cinema," Big B added.

Ikkis is an upcoming Hindi war biopic directed by Sriram Raghavan, starring Agastya Nanda as Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, India's youngest Param Vir Chakra recipient.
