Imlie: Sumbul Touqeer Khan-Fahmaan Khan’s show to go off air after Manasvi Vashist’s exit?

Just days after Manasvi Vashist’s exit from the show, Imlie seems to be in troubled waters. The beloved actor’s decision to leave the series has left fans in gloom, some of whom worry that the show might find it difficult to go on in the star’s absence.

The actor had joined the show this year, essaying the character of Aditya on the show, ex-husband to the main protagonist. The role was previously portrayed by Gashmeer Mahajani and Vashist replaced the former. However, after a period of a few months, Vashist too has bid adieu to the show.

Vashist recently took to his official Instagram handle to share a post to mark his exit from the show. The post featured photographs of his character from the series. He captioned it “ Accept what is, let go of what was, & have faith in what will be.#signingoff #adityakumartripathi”.

Regarding the reason for his leaving the show, Vashist had told TOI that it was an ‘amicable’ decision between him and the show’s makers. He said that initially, on joining the show, he realised that he would be playing one of the three central characters on the show, which included Imlie, Aditya and Malini. But as the show progressed, the writer’s had intended to change his character’s storyline into a negative role.

Vashist said that he did not want to play a negative character and wanted to move on from the show due to that reason. The actor also said that he was glad the makers understood his concerns and had given the character a proper farewell.“Imlie is a good show and has a great team and for the show to do better, the writers need to bring in newer twists and turns,” he added.

Although many fans held no ill will towards Vashist for his exit, some of them were not pleased with makers for the route they planned to take for the character. Many speculated that the show, which is already dwindling in popularity, might not be able to go on after the character’s exit. An official announcement regarding the same has not been made.

Imlie also stars Sumbul Touqeer Khan, Fahmaan Khan and Mayuri Deshmukh in lead roles.
