The advent of OTT has certainly introduced audiences to a plethora of new, talented faces, and Omkar Kulkarni is one of them. The young actor has been a part of a number of web shows, including ImMature on Amazon Prime Video, Cyber Squad on AltBalaji, The Insiders on MX Player, 3 Storeys’ by Excel Entertainment as well as Bravehearts season 2. In a recent interview, Omkar opened up about his acting journey and what made him want to become an actor in the first place.

The actor revealed that he was first bitten by the acting bug when he was in eighth grade, which was when he realised that he wanted a career in acting. “It was eighth grade when I decided I wanted to be an actor. When I realized that audience clapping is addictive, people laughing at your jokes is addictive, that’s when I decided to pursue acting as a career. Acting is a great way to channel my energy”, he said.

The actor’s parent is a cinematographer, so Omkar was no stranger to the entertainment business, and has also worked in theatre for the past five years. The actor is perhaps most well known for his role in the popular web series, ImMature. Opening up about working on the show, Omkar said that it was a ‘fulfilling’ experience, and that he had a lot of fun working with people that he looked up to. He added that it was a challenge to play a high school student, given that he is over 25 years old. Both seasons of ImMature are available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video.

Omkar was recently seen in the film Middle Class Love, which hit the big screen this September. The actor said that he has dreams of doing more films, but would rather choose a web series with a good script rather than a film with a bad one.
