In 2022, we witnessed a father-son duo in an action thriller that made us all go 'Wow'. It was Netflix's 'Thar', starring Anil Kapoor, Fatima Sana Shaikh, and Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor in lead roles. But did you know whom Harsh replaced in the film? It was Imran Khan. Yes, you heard it right. Our favourite Jay from 'Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na' was in talks with the makers before the role finally went to Harsh. Read on to learn everything about it.

Imran Khan Was In Talks For Thar

In a recent conversation with Hindustan Times, Imran opened up about being offered that film and the reason behind his not doing it. Imran, who recently made headlines for his comeback with Vir Das' directorial, shared, "I was attached to a few films then. I backed out of a couple of films at that point. I was in extended talks on a film that I believe ended up being called 'Thar' (the Netflix film starring Anil Kapoor)."

Imran Khan added, "I was in an early stage of development on that film. And Harsh Varrdhan played that role. I started pulling back. I never issued a press statement either, saying that on this day I retired. These are also years that I was very actively dealing with depression."

Reports of Imran Khan's comeback started surfacing when the actor reacted to fans' comments and hinted at his plans to work on films. Later, the actor posted a story that read, "To whom it may concern; I hear you. And I'm working on it. Thank you for being so patient with me."

After that, Imran’s close friend Prateik Babbar, in a conversation with Instant Bollywood, shared, “Yeah, of course, we spoke on the phone. It was good to hear his voice. Something is cooking. We all miss him. I had given up on him. But we spoke on the phone a week ago and I think something is cooking.”
