Sound Party isn’t producer Ravi Polishetty’s first endeavour related to the entertainment industry, he backed several short films, music videos and over 10 projects including an OTT film Vitamin She (out on Amazon Prime Video). While he handled the release of his earlier projects staying in the US, he returned to India for Sound Party. He had listened to 25 scripts before finalising the film.

Their primary reason for choosing a comedy was to offer a break for viewers from the dominance of thrillers on OTTs. It’s a healthy comedy, the producer shares. It was director Sanjay Sheri’s decision to cast VJ Sunny in the lead role, though Ravi liked him in ZEE5’s web show ATM as well. While the budget shot up beyond expectations, the team us satisfied that the shoot was wrapped up within 26 days.

Having been in the real estate and the IT sector in the US, Ravi’s man-management skills came into good use with the execution. He has over 10 stories in place for his upcoming projects and plans to make a film on children too. His friend Mahendra was supposed to be a partner and not a co-producer for Sound Party initially, but the latter took the decision after being pleasantly surprised by the rough cut.

Sound Party revolves around two dimwits - a father and a son and promises go be a hilarious ride for viewers. Sivannarayana plays the father. The team plans to release the film in 100 theatres in Telugu states and 150 screens in the US. Amazon Prime Video has acquired the post-theatrical OTT rights. Prudhviraj, Mirchi Priya, Manik Reddy, Ashok Kumar, Kadambari Kiran are also part of the cast.
