Tamil filmmaker and director of Mark Antony, Adhik Ravichandran, got married to Aishwarya Prabhu, daughter of veteran actor Prabhu and sister of actor Vikram Prabhu, in Chennai on Friday. Several celebrities attended the wedding, including actors Dulquer Salmaan, Vishal, director Mani Ratnam, his wife, actress Suhaasini Mani Ratnam, Poornima Bhagyaraj, Lissy, Kushboo Sundar and her husband, director Sundar C.

Celebrities wish the newlyweds

Actor Vishal, who starred in Adhik’s 2023 film Mark Antony, took to his social media handle to convey his wishes to the newlywed couple. In his X post, he wrote, “So damn happy for you my darling Adhik and my dearest sister Aishwarya on your wedding today and starting a new chapter in your lives and u hav the universe's blessings and especially your parents Prabhu sir and Punitha aunty's positivity and blessings now. Coming to the point, having married my sister dear Adhik u better take care of her like a princess as you have already dealt with an action hero. U know whats in store, Lol, just kidding, I know u will. What a coincidence. All my sisters are named Aishwarya. God bless you both with peace, happiness and prosperity. Loads of luv always.”

Actor-composer GV Prakash also took to his social media page to express a heartwarming wish to the couple. “Happy married life dear @Adhikravi and Aishwarya … have an amazing life ahead” (sic).

Who is Aishwarya Prabhu?

Prabhu's daughter and Vikram Prabhu's sister, Aishwarya Prabhu, who runs a baking business named Meltz, got married to her relative, Kunal, in 2009. However, the relationship did not last long and the marriage soon ended in divorce. Adhik and Aishwarya were friends before they pursued a romantic relationship.

Adhik made his directorial debut with the romantic comedy Trisha Illana Nayanthara, which was headlined by GV Prakash. However, his next two movies, Anbanavan Asaradhavan Adangadhavan and Bagheera, were box office duds. He bounced back with Vishal and SJ Suryah starrer Mark Antony.

Adhik’s upcoming project

On the work front, speculations are rife that Ajith is all set to team up with Adhik for his next film, which is tentatively titled AK 63. According to reports, Elred Kumar is funding it under the RS Infotainment brand. An official announcement is yet to be made about the film.
