Pakistani actress Mahira Khan - who acted opposite Shah Rukh Khan in the 2017 action-romance film Raees - tied the knot with entrepreneur Salim Karim on October 1 in Murree, among friends and family. The actress has now posted a collection of pictures from her mehendi ceremony, where she wore an exquisite ethnic ensemble, styled with statement accessories.

Mahira wore a blue kurta and a red dupatta for her mehendi ceremony

Mahira took to Instagram to share pictures from her mehendi ceremony. “Right before we were heading down.. Asim put a whole string of motias on my arm.. just because.. he is Asim and I’m his mahiru.. forever InshAllah. Mehndi,” the actress captioned the post.

In the first picture, Mahira is adorned in a beautiful blue kurta, styled with a red mesh dupatta and statement accessories. In a religious ceremony, the men around her, dressed in red kurtas, are walking her down the stairs with a floral façade over her head. Mahira complemented this ethnic ensemble with a gold choker, red lips, pink blush and a sleek bun.

Fans took note of the post and flooded the comment section with praise for Mahira. One user wrote, “Looking gorgeous...MASHALAH”, while another wrote, “Beautifully captured”.

Mahira’s wedding lehenga was designed by Faraz Menon

Best known for her performance in television shows like Humafar, Bin Roye and Neeyat, Mahira shared the news of her wedding by posting a video of herself walking down the aisle in a lehenga, designed by Faraz Menon. She captioned the post, “My Shehzada, Salim”.

Mahira recently made headlines when she posted a video of herself celebrating with her friends and dancing to SRK’s song Maahi Ve. This is Mahira’s second marriage. She was earlier married to actor-director Ali Askari, with whom she has a son named Azlan. The couple parted ways in 2015.
