India were grouped alongside Malaysia, UAE, Kazakhstan in Group B. They had already registered 5-0 wins over Kazakhistan and UAE earlier and went on to defeat Malaysia 4-1 to top the group stage.

HS Prannoy, PV Sindhu and Women's Doubles pair Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand clinched victories in their respective matches and later the Mixed Doubles pair Ishaan Bhatnagar and Tanisha Crasto sealed victory to help India secure 4-1 win in the tie.
