Indian 2: Kamal Haasan is more excited about Indian 2 than his fans, details inside

Kamal Haasan, who is basking in the success of his latest release, Vikram, has revealed that director Shankar will resume the shooting of their ambitious project, Indian 2, soon. In a recently-held interaction with the press, the actor-politician confirmed that once director Shankar completes the responsibilities related to RC 15 (featuring Ram Charan in the lead) the shooting of Indian 2 will resume. "We can't wait to return to the sets of our film. Shankar and I are more excited than our fans. Indian 2 has come out quite well thus far," Kamal Haasan told. 

Indian 2, which began production before the pandemic-induced lockdown, hit a major snag when three crew members were killed in an accident on the set. While the pandemic added to the complications, it became even more tangled as creative differences emerged between the creators. 

This project appears to be free of roadblocks for now. Red Giant Movies distributor Udhayanidhi Stalin announced that Lyca Productions will soon get back to work on Vikram. He shared this update during the success celebration of Don, another film he distributed.

Earlier, Shankar, in an interview, added that he was thrilled to see Kamal Haasan sport the look of the popular octogenarian character Senapathy, a freedom fighter-turned-vigilante bent on rooting out corruption.

Interestingly, Kamal Haasan had told Shankar that he wanted Indian 2 to be released before the 2019 Lok Sabha election. "Indian-2 was very dear to my heart. I had no intention to abandon the movie," said Shankar last year, adding he was ready to complete the movie if the production house settled the dues to all actors and technicians and provided unstinted cooperation in completing the project. 

Indian 2 initially starred Siddharth, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Rakul Preet Singh, Gulshan Grover, and Kajal Aggarwal, but it was speculated that Trisha, Kamal Haasan's Thoongavanam co-star, may replace Kajal. However, we await an official confirmation. 

Anirudh Ravichander and Kamal Haasan will collaborate on Indian 2 for the second time after Vikram.
