Indian Idol: Anushka impresses judges and audience with her magical voice once again

Anushka took the centre stage of Indian Idol 13 once again with her melodious songs in the Dream Girl Special episode. Judges, guests, and viewers were clearly impressed with her rendition of Pyar Hamen Kis Mod Pe Le Aaya. Her performance was first shown in a promo on Saturday. Ever since her performance was talked about across the country. 

The special episode of the music reality show was dedicated to Hema Malini for her contribution to Indian cinema. Anushka stole hearts with her powerful vocals. On Sunday’s episode, she was seen in a wig. To pay tribute to Hema Malini, she chose Pyar Hamen Kis Mod Pe Le Aaya from her film Satte Pe Satta. The original song was performed by Kishore Kumar, Bhupinder Singh, RD Burman, and Swapan Chakraborty. RD Burman composed the song in the early 80s. Special guests of the show Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D'souza were clearly impressed by her performance.

Hailed from west Bengal, Anushka Patra was first spotted in Zee Bangla’s Sa Re Ga Ma Pa. While she did not win the competition, her performance was lauded. She bagged Kalika Prasad Memorial Award and the Viewers’ Choice Award from the show. After Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, the 16-year-old singer took part in Sony’s Indian Idol and won hearts in no time.
