Indian Police Force: Vivek Oberoi joins Sidharth Malhotra, Shilpa Shetty in upcoming series; see first look

Rohit Shetty’s power packed cop universe keeps getting bigger. With Sidharth Malhotra and Shilpa Shetty confirmed as the first stars to join his upcoming web series, the latest star to be announced today is Vivek Oberoi.

Amazon Prime Video India took to its social media handles to announce the news to the world. Sharing a first look picture of the actor, the post said that they are elated to welcome Oberoi to the web show.

The actor also took to his social media handles to share the news with his fans. Sharing the first look picture, Oberoi said that he is “charged” to be joining the Indian Police Force and Rohit Shetty’s cop universe.

The first look picture catches Oberoi right in the action, wearing the same tactical police gear and sunglasses as the other two actors, who were confirmed earlier. Oberoi is also seen holding a gun in the picture.

The web series, which was announced last week and is currently being filmed, marks the popular director’s debut OTT web series. While the series also marks the digital debuts of Malhotra and Shilpa Shetty, Vivek Oberoi starred in one of India’s earliest web shows, Inside Edge.

Rohit Shetty’s cop universe currently consists of Singham (2011), Singham Returns (2014), Simmba (2018), and Sooryavanshi(2021). The first two movies are available on Amazon Prime Video, while Simmba and Sooryavanshi can be streamed on ZEE5 and Netflix respectively.

Vivek Oberoi, who recently celebrated his 20 year anniversary as an actor, will also be seen playing the antagonist in the Malayalam movie, Kaduva, starring Prithviraj Sukumaran in the lead.

Amazon Prime Video is yet to announce an official release date for the show.
