India’s first cli-fi thriller The Jengaburu Curse slated to release on SonyLIV on THIS date – see announcement video

India’s first cli-fi thriller series, The Jengaburu Curse, is all set to release on Sony LIV soon. Internationally acclaimed and national award-winning producer and director, Nila Madhab Panda, brings the series to the platform. The first promo from the show has been unveiled.

Set in a small town in Odisha, the show follows the story of Priya Das, a London-based financial analyst. When her father, Professor Das, mysteriously disappears, Priya is compelled to return to Odisha. As she embarks on her search, a series of peculiar events occur, unravelling an unexpected connection between the indigenous Bondia tribe and the mining state of Odisha.

The Jengaburu Curse marks Nila Madhab’s debut in the realm of over-the-top (OTT) content. It explores the consequences of humanity’s insatiable desires on the environment.

Produced by Studio Next and created and directed by Nila Madhab Panda, The Jengaburu Curse’s crew includes writer Mayank Tewari, Director of Photography Paulo Perez, music director Alokananda Dasgupta and production designer Durga Prasad Mohapatra. The series is edited by Jabeen Merchant. It features Faria Abdullah, Nasser, Makarand Deshpande, Sudev Nair, Deipak Sampat and Hitesh Dave in key roles.
