While on one hand, everyone is glued to the ongoing reality shows like Bigg Boss 17 and Temptation Island, there is another reality show ‘India’s Got Talent’, which reached its grand finale. If one has to close the eyes and recall the earlier seasons of the talent-based reality show, one will recall the kind of talents that one has seen on the show. Be it the all-police-personnel singing band, or the emotional reunion of a magician with his son who did not approve of his magic or a man whose hard work as a pole artist made the then-judge Parineeti Chopra take him as her brother… the list is endless. This season (season 10) was no different. Today, on the occasion of the season’s grand finale, it was teh extremely talented Abujhmad Mallakhamb & Sports Academy, who were declared as the ultimate winner.

After Abujhmad Mallakhamb & Sports Academy got declared as the ultimate winner of the show, they not just took home not just the grand title, but also the prize money of Rs.20 lakhs and a car! Hailing from a humble town in Chhattisgarh, the group exemplified the power of dedication and perseverance, proving that even the impossible becomes achievable if you are committed to your craft and stayed true to their motto of ‘Chattishgarhya, Sabse Badiya’

The top finalists of the show were Zero Degree from Mumbai, Chhattisgarh’s Aerial Malkhamb group Abujhmad Malkhamb Academy, the dance troupe Golden Girls from Kolkata, The ART ‘Acro dancers’ (Abhishek from Uttar Pradesh, Rahul from Jaipur, and Tejas from Mumbai), Raaga Fusion which was the Indian Classical Fusion Band and the Mahila Band from Nagaland.

This time round, the celebrities who were seen gracing the judges’ chair included the extremely gracious Kirron Kher, the rapper-singer Badshah, and the never-say-old Shilpa Shetty. Today also saw the ‘homecoming’ of Karan Johar, who was one of the judges in the earlier seasons of the show. Karan Johar, who had come to the show as a celebrity guest for the grand finale, said, “Main aa gaya hoon Kirron ji, ghar aaja pardesi tera show bulaaye re”. The grand finale also saw a fitting tribute to Karan Johar in the form of an amalgamation of all the hit tracks from his films. Needless to say, Karan Johar became extremely emotional seeing the act.
