Ryan Stephen, who also directed Kajol’s short film Devi, passed away in Goa on May 29

Indoo Ki Jawani producer Ryan Stephen breathed his last on May 29. He passed away due to COVID-19 related complications in Goa on Saturday. The producer had previously worked on Kajol’s short film Devi.
The director of Indoo Ki Jawani, Abir Sengupta, confirmed the news of Stephen’s death. “Ryan passed away this morning. He was battling Covid-19. He was in Goa, his friends and family are making arrangements for his funeral,” he said. Stephen was receiving treatment for COVID-19 for over two weeks after being admitted to a hospital in Goa. Stephen was also a part of Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions previously.
Bollywood celebrities took to social media to express their sadness over the demise of Stephen. A heartbroken Kiara Advani shared an image of Stephen on Instagram with the caption “Gone too soon.” Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt also paid their tributes to the late producer on Instagram.
Manoj Bajpayee expressed his grief on Twitter and wrote, “It’s so so shocking for all of us who knew this gentle soul. It really can’t be true!! I will miss you my friend RYAN”. Actor Farhan Akhtar also tweeted, “Saddened and shocked to hear about the passing of #RyanStephen. Gone too soon .. condolences to his family. RIP (sic)”
Emmay Entertainment, a production house by Nikhil Advani which had co-produced Indoo Ki Jawani, paid their respects to Stephen. “You lived life with kindness & compassion, and will always be remembered,” tweeted Emmay Entertainment.
Pooja Bhatt took to Instagram to write a heartfelt note about Stephen. “A dawn I will never forget. A candle I will forever keep lit, both inside & outside myself. As a friend, in the wee hours of the morning, decided to call it a night. I can’t get myself to say Adieu. I can’t get myself to type goodbye. He has merely changed rooms, towns, worlds. For which I will eventually discard my earthly preoccupations, don my wings and journey towards, so we can have our great reunion in the sky,” read her Instagram caption.
