After years of hiatus, Indraneil Sengupta is back in Bengal. He will be seen in Sandip Ray’s Hatyapuri in which the actor will be seen as Feluda for the first time. Then there is Sudeshna Roy and Abhijit Guha’s Titin with Ishaa Saha. Now the actor will be seen in Ron Raj’s Porichoy Gupta with Ritwick Chakraborty and Joy Sengupta. The shooting of the film is over.

Indraneil plays the character of an archeologist in the films. In an interview with Anandabazar, he said, “There are two good actors in the film – Ritwick and Joy. Both of them are close to me. I agreed to the film because I will be able to work with them,” he said.

The film shows the ’50s Bengal. Ritwick has been sharing photos of his look in dhuti and Punjabi in the backdrop of an elaborate mansion. Indraneil too will be seen in dhuti and kurta.

Indraneil’s first outing as Feluda in Hatyapuri is in full swing. The Kolkata schedule is over and the Puri shooting will start soon. By his admission, the offer of playing Feluda was a dream-come-true moment for him. Earlier, he told OTTplay, “I always wanted to play Feluda. This is my dream role. I remember when Benuda (Sabyasachi Chakrabarty, who played Feluda in Sandip Ray’s multiple films) announced that he would not be playing Feluday anymore, I went to meet Babuda (Sandip Ray). That was the first time I went out to ask for a role.”

In Titin, Indraneil plays the character of a father. Paayel Sarkar, the mother, is career-minded. At one point in time, she leaves her husband and daughter. Indraneil seeks help from Ishaa. Slowly, she becomes the little child’s mother figure. The shooting of the family drama will start soon.
