Indrani, touted to be the country’s first-ever supergirl film, features Yaaneea Bharadwaj, Kabir Duhan Singh, Franaita Jijina and Garima Kaushal in the lead roles. Stephen Kumar, who is also the writer and the producer, is helming the epic drama. After releasing a series of character posters, the first look of actors Sanjay Swaroop and Madhunandan from the film were unveiled earlier today.

Director Stephen Kumar shares that the story of Indrani revolves around an organization ISF - Indian Super Force and its operations. The characters played by Sanjay Swaroop and Madhunandan will be leading the ISF organisation. In the film, ISF will be involved in operations revolving around border security and international issues, associating with the Indian Army.

Beyond the supergirl angle, the film has a time-travel dimension too and the director promises that the narrative will be full of intriguing twists and turns. “Indrani has a very unique plot which has never been explored in Indian cinema before and has all the ingredients needed for a quality superhero film,” Stephen Kumar added in a statement. The film is slated to release on October 27.

The executive producer Stanley Suman Babu mentions that Indrani shoot is progressing at a brisk pace. A schedule was wrapped in Goa recently and the third schedule will be held in Hyderabad. “We’re confident that we’ll complete the film as per our plans and release in October,” he stated. Indrani is produced under Shray Motion Pictures.

Ravi Kumar Gurram is the art director and Chota K Prasad is the editor. Sai Kartheek scores the music. Charan Madhavaneni cranks the camera. The film’s shoot had commenced earlier this March.
