The first-ever supergirl film made in Indian cinema, the Telugu film Indrani, is all set to go on floors soon. The film marks the directorial debut of Stephen, who has written the story and will be producing it too. Yaaneea Bharadwaj, Kabir Duhan Singh, Franaita Jijina and Garima Kaushal play the lead roles in this epic saga, which was formally launched in Hyderabad recently. Veteran actor Naresh, producer Bekkem Venugopal, Tumbbad director Rahi Anil Barve were special guests for the launch event where the motion poster was unveiled too.
The female lead Yaaneea Bhardwaj at the pooja ceremony shared it was Indrani that chose her for the role and had thanked the director- producer for the opportunity, expressing confidence that audiences would like it. The writer, director, producer Stephen said that he was investing all his energy into the film, sharing the need for an entertaining supergirl film in mainstream cinema whose appeal spans across all age groups. Sai Kartheek will compose music for the film for which Charan Madhavaneni will crank the camera.
"The entire country will be talking about Indrani post the release. The titular character has different shades and Yaaneea was a natural choice for the role. She underwent training in martial arts for the same. Indrani has enough commercial ingredients and is being made on a grand scale, strong technical standards. The action episodes will be a visual feast for one and all," Stephen stated at the event.
Congratulating the team, Naresh mentioned that he was genuinely surprised by Indrani's motion poster. Sharing that he has known the film's executive producer Stanley and director Stephen Reddy for over 8 years, he said that they would commit to something only if they were fully prepared. He appreciated the concept behind Indrani and wished for its success. Bekkem Venugopal and Rahi Anil Barve, concurring with Naresh, stated Indrani was a content-driven film, that a lot of effort had gone behind it and lavished praise on the motion poster.
Composer Sai Kartheek spoke of the need for a supergirl film in Indian cinema and appreciated the producers for choosing a unique script for their debut. Executive producer Stanley Suman added that Sai Kartheek's music will be a major highlight for Indrani and that Stephen took over two and a half years to finalise the script. Ravi Kumar Gurram is the art director and Chota K Prasad is the editor for the same.
