Indrasish Roy: I love watching mega serials and Mithai is my favourite

Indrasish Roy, aka Lalon of Dhulokona, makes it a point to watch television serials regularly. Not just in Star Jalsha, the actor claims that he follows serials on several other TV channels also. In case he misses a serial, he tries to watch it on the respective OTT platforms. He also feels that television serials do a commendable job in successfully capturing audiences’ attention for months and years. Indrasish plays Lalon in Dhulokona in Star Jalsha opposite Manali Manisha Dey, aka Fuljhuri.

Talking about his favourite serial, Indrasish said that he has been a fan of Mithai ever since he watched the promo of the serial. Zee Bangla’s Mithai is a direct competition of Dhulokona as both the serials are telecasted at 8 pm. “I watch Mithai on Zee5. Adrit (Roy) does a very good job. It was really very brave of him to take up the serial after working on several films,” he said.

Indrasish’s character Rajat Narayan Roy in Kaushik Ganguly’s Lokkhi Chele has been lauded by the audience and critics alike. When asked if television works give him job satisfaction, he said, “It feels great. Dhulokona gave me the fame that was gone. It instilled the faith in me that I am also a successful hero and I can do what a hero needs to do. Before signing for Dhulokona, I took permission from KG. I wanted to check if the hero inside me was still alive and Dhulokona made that happen.” 

Indrasish also elaborated that he doesn’t mind working hard for TV serials. “I come from a middle-class family and I have always seen my father going to the office every day. In my head, going to work every day is a good thing. I am glad that I have work for which I leave my house every day for work like my father,” said the actor.
