Indubala Bhater Hotel’s teaser is out. There has already been a buzz about this series with Subhashree Ganguly’s battered, prosthetic makeup of an elderly woman. Based on a novel written by Kallol Lahiri, Indubala Bhater Hotel is Debaloy Bhattacharya’s directorial work on Hoichoi. 

The 1.53-minute-long teaser shows elderly Subhashree gearing up to cook in her kitchen. She whispers, “This is Indubala Bhater Hotel. People come to have food cooked by Indubala in this dingy and damp room.” Then a young woman is seen alighting from a train. Indubala is seen to cook fish. She is also seen washing her face with rain, as is done by young girls. 

The teaser also uses a heartwrenching song, which encapsulates Indubala’s life at a glimpse. Subhasree plays the role that covers the age range of 25 to 75. She is the widowed mother of two kids who came as a refugee from East Bengal and opened a rice hotel for her livelihood. The series portrays her struggle. the teaser says, “This is a history of leaving one’s own country. This is a history of losing dear ones. This is the history of culinary.” 

After working in so-called mainstream commercial films for years, Subhasree has been seriously getting into meaty roles. Her journey as an actor in content-driven films with Raj Chakraborty’s Parineeta. Her performance is Bismillah, and Dharmajuddha was lauded. It is anticipated that this series is going to be a milestone in her career.
