‘Industry outsider’ Kartik Aaryan fears one flop can destroy his film career

Kartik Aaryan is currently riding high on the success of his film Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. However, the actor is also well aware that one flop film is all it might take to write him off. Being an outsider, he fears that it is the one flop film that will cross him off from directors’ lists.

The actor got candid in an interview with Film Companion, where he stated the hard facts. While Kartik is grateful for where he is today, he also fears that being an outside, just one flop film is all it would take to end his career.

Kartik thinks that it is that one flop film which can ‘remove his name’ from the directors’ lists. Although he is not sure if that is the case with an insider but Kartik has a feeling that if he delivers one flop film, nobody will create a project of the level he is at currently, for him alone.

“If I make a mistake or have a flop, I just want that the directors shouldn’t remove me from other projects,” Kartik said. He, however, also expressed gratitude to everyone who gave him an opportunity despite his highs and lows.

Kartik has been in the industry since a long time. While his biggest claim-to-fame films before Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 were Pyaar Ka Punchnama and Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, the actor had also delivered Akash Vaani and Guest Iin London. His film Love Aaj Kal (2020) opposite Sara Ali Khan was not received as well as his recent releases Dhamaka and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 either.

Currently, the actor plays the lead in two movies – Shehzada and Freddy. He is also a part of Satyaprem Ki Katha and Kirik Party remake.

Kartik’s name was also associated with Dostana 2 for a while. However, things did not work out and he is reportedly no longer a part of the film. Although rumours were rife that differences started building between Kartik and producer Karan Johar on the sets, the two have always been cordial. In the latest episode of Koffee With Karan 7, the host also invited Kartik on his show as a gesture that all is great between the two despite the alleged situation.
