Inheritance OTT release date in India: Here's when and where you can stream Phoebe Dynevor's espionage thriller

With Phoebe Dynevor at the helm, Neil Burger's Inheritance is an upcoming espionage thriller that Lionsgate Play (OTTplay Premium) will soon release. An enthralling tale of clandestine family affairs, global intrigue, and the weight of legacy will be the focus of the film's exclusive debut on May 23.

Dynevor portrays Maya in Inheritance, a film about a woman whose father's unexpected death leads her into a perilous excavation of her family's secret history. As she rushes across many nations, deciphering clues and navigating a world of deceit, the film follows her change. With the tagline "A sleek, high-stakes thriller where legacy is a deadly game", the movie looks like it will be an exciting and suspenseful ride.

Rhys Ifans, Ciara Baxendale, and Kashyap Shangari (Tejas) are among the supporting cast members who join Dynevor. For Shangari, whose Hollywood debut is in Inheritance, the opportunity to enter a universe where charisma and peril teeter on the brink of annihilation was invaluable. The actor said in a statement that, sincerely, he doesn't have a large screen time, but his role is crucial, particularly during Maya's quest for answers in India. In addition to being the man across the table, his character serves as a reflection of Maya's history and an obstacle to her gut feelings. Acting him out required poise, delicacy, and the rush that comes with keeping secrets.

For Shangari, his character's ability to generate tension without saying much is just wonderful, and working with Neil Burger (The Marsh King's Daughter and Voyagers) was something else. He went on to laud his directing approach. The actor added that when one watches the film, they will understand what he means; his framing techniques provide the perfect amount of suspense. Being a part of a story that is both personally significant and globally aspirational is an honour. With appreciation, wonder, and a want to learn more, he is prepared to walk through this gateway to more stories on the global stage.

The way Inheritance was filmed was creatively handled by Burger. New York, Cairo, New Delhi, and Seoul were among the many foreign locales where the film was shot exclusively using an iPhone. While explaining the purpose for this strategy, the filmmaker said in a statement that when most film productions arrive at a location, they disrupt the normal life there. They bring a plethora of tools, workers, and vehicles; they obstruct walkways and roadways; and they steal the show. Contrarily, Burger aspired to film clandestinely so that he could observe the world unfiltered, instead of directing attention towards the filmmakers. 

They travelled the globe filming with a small crew, working without lights or boom mics in an effort to blend in with our surroundings. Their stops included New York, Cairo, New Delhi, Seoul, and back to New York. In order for them to witness life as it was happening right now. They travelled the same route as the protagonists, filming in all the actual locations they visited.

Challenges and highlights of filming in India

Burger said, describing one of the unusual and difficult aspects of filming in India, that they filmed a motorbike being pursued by the police on open roadways in Delhi. Sounds risky, but there are always too many people for them to get very fast. Regardless, one has never seen anything like that in their life. Filming began at the New Delhi railway station, where they joined the crowd on the platform before boarding a functional train and travelling across rural India.
