Insidious: The Red Door has been one of the most awaited parts of the Insidious franchise this year. The Patrick Wilson directorial marks a direct sequel to the Insidious film series and the fifth in the all-over franchise. It was out in theatres on July 7, 2023, and now it's all set to release on OTT.

Plot of the film

Dalton and his father Josh fought with negative powers and demons during his childhood and successfully left the evil behind. Now, after a decade, the boy has become a young man and he is all set to go to college, while the evil is back in his life. The father-son duo has a new evil to deal with and at the same time is compelled to go beyond the infamous red door behind which lies horrifying terrors.

Official Trailer

The trailer of the film gives glimpses into the horror drama movie and showcases how the father-son duo deals with a new negative power in their lives. They can also be seen entering the spirit world together to save each other and their family. Apart from the old cast that are reprising their roles, a few new characters are also unveiled in the official video.

The cast of the film

Director Wilson himself stars in the horror flick alongside Ty Simpkins, and Rose Byrne in pivotal roles. Meanwhile, a huge ensemble of the cast including Sinclair Daniel, Hiam Abbass, Andrew Astor, Juliana Davies, Steve Coulter, Peter Dager, Justin Sturgis, Joseph Bishara, David Call, Leigh Whannell, Angus Sampson and Lin Shaye play key characters.

Budget and Box Office Collection

The budget for Insidious The Red Door is around $16 million while the the film earned over $188.6 million at the box office.

Behind The Scenes

The BTS video sees the cast talking about their thoughts on the latest sequel and their experience of working in it. Simpkins, who was just a boy in the second part of the film is all gown up and talks about his realisation of how everything has come to full circle. Meanwhile, Wilson, who directs and stars in the movie shares how he hoped to have another part after Insidious: Chapter 2 in 2013.

Insidious: The Red Door, which is produced by Jason Blum, Oren Peli, James Wan and Leigh Whannell under the banners of Screen Gems, Stage 6 Films and Blumhouse Productions, is all set to have its OTT premiere on Netflix on October 6, 2023.
