IPL 2023: Actor Suniel Shetty reacts to KL Rahul’s injury, says, ‘No player is bigger than the game’

The fever of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is going on nowadays, with many fans rooting and cheering for their favourite teams. While teams such as Gujarat Titans, Chennai Super Kings and Lucknow Super Giants are the top three teams on the table, the other teams are stepping up their efforts to make it to the quarter finals.

Though the craze of this league is on in full swing, KL Rahul – the ace cricketer of Lucknow Super Giants is injured compelling him to miss the remaining schedule of the IPL and the World Test Championship.

Reacting to this development, actor Suniel Shetty has come out and about in full support for his son-in-law Rahul. In an interview with ETimes, he said, “The Indian team has a marvelous bunch of cricketers. They have good bench strength. I think it’s an opportunity for some other player to get to the WTC final and shine. No player is bigger than the game.”

Heaping praises to Rahul, the Main Hoon Na actor said, “I am a proud father. Blessed is Athiya and blessed is Ahaan because he gets to learn about from him. He is calm, composed, very respectful. I don’t think I could have asked for a better son.”

KL Rahul got married to Suniel Shetty’s daughter Athiya Shetty earlier this year. Both Athiya and Rahul often indulge in (Public Displays of Affection) PDAs making their fans fall head over heels in love with them and their cute chemistry. Recently, a video went viral on social media wherein Athiya was seen clapping with joy after Rahul scored a six runs in the stadium. This match was played between Rajasthan Royals and Lucknow Super Giants.

Meanwhile, Suniel Shetty will next be seen in the film, Hera Pheri 3, with actors Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal.
