Iraivan release postponed? Jayam Ravi and Nayanthara film pushed due to THIS reason?

It looks like Jayam Ravi and Nayanthara's upcoming film, Iraivan release has been pushed. The film, written and directed by Ahmed, will be released in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. Iraivan marks the reunion of the hit pair, Nayanthara and Ravi after the blockbuster Thani Oruvan (2015).

The latest we hear about the film is that the re-recording is in progress and that the delay in post-production has pushed the release date further. Yet another reason for the postponement of the release is said to be the lack of buzz around the film with just two weeks for the release. Moreover, the promotions for the film are yet to begin.

Jailer Impact
In the meantime, Rajinikanth's Jailer has arrived as a storm in the box office and is not expected to be leaving theatres anytime soon. This means that Jailer is set to rule the theatre for at least two to three weeks, which means Jayam Ravi's Iraivan, too might have an impact.

Earlier, the team had released a poster featuring Jayam Ravi and Nayanthara along with a blood-stain knife. The film is billed as a revenge drama, produced by Sudhan Sundaram and Jayaram G of Passion Studios. The trailer of the film is said to be censored and the film's runtime is said to be 2 minutes and 33 seconds.

While music director Yuvan Shankar Raja has scored the music for the album, cinematography is by Hari K Vedanth. The digital rights of Ponniyin Selvan have been bagged by Netflix.

Jayam Ravi signs his next
Jayam Ravi, who continues to bask in the success of his character Arunmozhi Varman in Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan 2, has begun work on his next. The film, titled Genie, stars Krithi Shetty, Wamiqa Gabbi and Kalyani Priyadarshan in the lead and is directed by Arjunan Jr.
