Joju George's Iratta Telugu remake, here's what we know
Iratta is the latest Malayalam film that has caught the imagination of many. The film starring Joju George is now streaming on Netflix and has caught the imagination of many. The film has become a hot topic of discussion, especially in the Telugu film circles. A few days back, news has come out that a noted producer has bought the remake rights of the film and will remake it with a big star.
Well, we got in touch with the team of the producer and they have confirmed to us that all the reports going around are fake. The source also confirms that their producer boss has not bought the rights of Iratta and has no plans of remaking it. In the last few years, a number of Malayalam films have been dubbed in Telugu and become big hits.
But as the OTT platforms have become popular, the remakes have stopped clicking. The latest example is Butta Bomma, which was the remake of the Malayalam film Kappela. Also, Akshay Kumar's Selfiee which was the remake of Driving Licence flopped at the box office. So, not many are interested in remakes these days.
Iratta had Joju George in a double role and is about a man who dies in police custody. The film has very good suspense and Jakes Bejoy's BGM was a special attraction. It would be perfect for a senior hero to do this film but as remakes are not working, no one is keen to buy the rights and remake it here in Telugu cinama.
