Raid 2 is the sequel to the 2018 blockbuster, Raid. The sequel, directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, will hit theaters on May 1. In Raid 2, Ajay Devgn will reprise IRS officer Amay Patnaik. He will be dealing with a corrupt politician, Dada Manohar Bhai, played by Riteish Deshmukh. While the film has been garnering attention, Raj Kumar Gupta opened up about the possibility of Raid 3 in a new interview.
During a new interview with Pinkvilla, Raj Kumar Gupta was asked about the possibility of Raid 3. The filmmaker said, “It’s too early, as we always intend to say a good story and then wait to see if audiences like it. Raid 2 will decide if it has the legs to go to Raid 3,” he answers, adding further that he is yet to decide on his next feature film. “There are multiple scripts, but let’s see which one comes together.”

Speaking about the plot of Raid 2, Gupta said that although the film is based on true events, it has a lot of fictional elements that will elevate the experience. He mentioned that they had the liberty to play around and introduce new characters in Raid 2. "That’s how we approached this film. It was Ritesh Shah, my co-writer’s idea to bring Saurabh Shukla back in Raid 2," he said.
Not only this, but also he said that Raid 2 has a lot of humor, and that’s connected to real life.
Bollywood Hungama reported that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) retained all the action and violent scenes in Raid 2. However, CBFC demanded two dialogue changes. One is that the makers will replace ‘Railway Mantri’ with ‘Bada Mantri’, and secondly, the eight-second ‘Paisa, hathyar, taakat’ dialogue at the very beginning of the film will also be removed.
Meanwhile, apart from Ajay and Riteish, the film also stars Rajat Kapoor, Saurabh Shukla, Supriya Pathak, Amit Sial, and Yashpal Sharma in key roles. Raid 2 will be released in cinemas on May 1.
