Is Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, Suniel Shetty starrer Hera Pheri 3 finally in the making? Producer spills the beans

One of the best comedies to have come out of Bollywood is the comedy escapade Hera Pheri (2000), starring Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, and Paresh Rawal. Its follow-up, Phir Hera Pheri (2006), proved to be an equally enjoyable film. Both films have become meme cult favourites over the past four to five years.

Hera Pheri 3 has therefore been in great demand. During an interaction with Bollywood Hungama, the producer, Firoz Nadiadwala, was quizzed when the most anticipated sequel in Bollywood would be made. He said that the audience will get to see it very soon with the same star cast of Akshay, Paresh, and Suniel. They are working on certain modalities, and the technology is already in place. It will be produced in the same manner while maintaining the characters' youth and demonstrating that past successes cannot be taken for granted. As a result, they must take extra care with their material, story, screenplay, characters, and other aspects.

On being quizzed about who will be helming Hera Pheri 3, Nadiadwala revealed that they have zeroed in on a director and an announcement for the same will be made soon. Neeraj Vora wrote and directed the follow-up while Priyadarshan directed the first. There were rumours that Hera Pheri 3 would be helmed by Raaj Shaandilyaa of Dream Girl (2019), but the producer refuted the rumours.

Hera Pheri 3 is still a highly anticipated movie, nevertheless. Even on a non-holiday Friday, industry experts believe the movie has the potential to score an opening of Rs. 60 crores.

He continues by saying that while he is not aiming for a record-breaking debut, he also wants to make sure that the movie doesn't lose ground on day two. Nadiadwala added that maintaining a presence at the box office is crucial and everything crumbles the moment one takes it for granted. They are hoping that, with God's help, they can produce additional components like Hera Pheri 4, Hera Pheri 5, etc., and they ought to be superior to the preceding portions. They anticipate that a new movie will be released every 15 months.

Hera Pheri 3 may not have been widely known to have debuted in 2014, and Neeraj Vora was going to direct it. They had begun filming for Hera Pheri 3, but they were forced to halt production after Vora became ill. After nearly 13 months in a coma, Neeraj Vora passed away on December 14, 2017.

Surprisingly, Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham, Suniel Shetty, and Paresh Rawal made up the main cast of Hera Pheri 3 at the time. Nadiadwala responded by saying that this is because the story of that film at that time was different. He added that Akshay Kumar will be, without a doubt, part of Hera Pheri 3.
