If the latest reports are to be believed, noted Bollywood filmmaker Anurag Kashyap is all set to make his first Tamil movie, starring actor-composer GV Prakash. Known for his works like Dev D, Gangs Of Wasseypur and, more recently, Kennedy, Anurag has often expressed his ‘special love’ for movies in all the four southern languages. In a recent interview, Prakash revealed that the filmmaker is all set to make his Tamil directorial debut with an interesting project, which has the Adiyae fame actor in the lead.

According to him, it’s a pan-Indian project. “I am excited to be working in Anurag’s directorial project. I am familiar with his work, as I have worked scoring background music for Gangs Of Wasseypur,” Prakash elaborated.

GV Prakash’s upcoming sea-horror film Kingston and other projects

Meanwhile, the composer-turned-actor has quite an interesting lineup of projects in his kitty. His upcoming film, which is also his 25th as an actor, is titled Kingston. Acclaimed actor Kamal Haasan unveiled the title poster of the film earlier, which according to the makers, is India’s first sea-horror adventure movie.

Directed by Kamal Prakash, Kingston has Prakash’s Bachelor co-actor Divya Bharathi playing the female lead. The rest of the film’s cast list is yet to be revealed. Its cinematography is done by Gokul Benoy, editing by San Lokesh and action choreography by Dhilip Subbarayan. Prakash is composing music for the upcoming film.

He will also be starring in Rebel, helmed by debutant director Nikesh RS, which has Mamita Baiju as the leading lady. Touted to be a political drama, the film is likely to have references to communism and bourgeoisie. The story takes place in Kerala, hence the audience can expect some Malayalam references as well in the narration.
