Is Darshan’s D56 called Kateera or Chowdayya? Neither, says team

Challenging Star Darshan has been busy working on his next, which has been dubbed #D56 to denote that it is his 56th film. Directed by Tharun Sudhir, who worked with Darshan briefly in Chowkaa and then made a full-fledged film with him called Roberrt, #D56 is being produced by Rockline Venkatesh under his Rockline Productions. The film is set to introduce veteran actress Malashree’s daughter Radhana Ram as a leading lady in Kannada cinema.

In the time since the launch of the film, Tharun has been guarded about the subject and is yet to even reveal its title. The only public information, so to say, is a theme poster that shows a dog leading a herd of sheep with the tagline 'Hindiruvavarige Daari, Mundiruvavarige Jawabdaari', which could mean that Darshan's character in the film will lead a radical social change of some kind.

The actor’s fans, of course, have been busy speculating what the title could be, with industry trackers claiming that they’ve cracked it. At the moment, two contenders are doing the rounds – Kateera and Chowdayya. The former is the crowd favourite, with most predictions leaning towards that title. However, a little while ago, there was a post on the film’s official social media handle stating that none of the guesses so far are right and that all will be revealed on Darshan’s birthday on February 16. “The title of #D56 is not what you’re guessing right now, it’s beyond your imagination, we’ll tell you on February 16,” read the post. The first look of the film will also be revealed on the same day. In earlier interactions with the media, Tharun had said that #D56 is based on real incidents.

Darshan, who was last seen in Kranti, is apparently collaborating with Tharun on another project after #D56 and one with team Kranti too. However, it is yet to be revealed in which order these will take off.
