There was a moment of joy when two superstars from the 90s, Aamir Khan and Sunny Deol, decided to join hands for the movie Lahore 1947. However, as history has it, there have been falling out even among legends like iconic writers Salim-Javed (Sholay fame) and thus, the fear holds true that this collab could lead to such an outcome. Unfortunately, we might be at the stage where creative differences might lead to Sunny Deol and Aamir Khan ending their collaboration, either with Lahore 1947 or before that. Here's what we hear...
It appears that creative differences have started to show up on the sets of Rajkumar Santoshi's Lahore 1947. According to PeepingMoon, producer Aamir Khan, keeping to his Mr. Perfectionist tag, has asked for a reshoot of some scenes. This appears to have caused a delay in the release of the movie. Gadar 2 actor Sunny Deol, who has a packed schedule till December, is not able to readjust his dates, which might be causing friction between the Jaat actor and producer Khan.
According to the report, 10 days of shoot are still pending for Lahore 1947 even though principal photography on the film was completed back in September. The Ghajini actor Aamir Khan has asked that various sequences be reshot, while Sunny Deol is eager to release the film for his fans.
Aamir Khan's current focus is his own Bollywood comeback film, Sitaare Zameen Par. This has caused further delay to Lahore 1947. Sitaare Zameen Par, too, would release on Christmas 2025.
Lahore 1947 is a movie set against the 1947 India-Pakistan war, but with communal harmony being the centric theme. The film is adapted from Asghar Wajahat's acclaimed play Jis Lahore Nai Dekhya, O Jamyai Nai.
Aamir Khan is working on Taare Zameen Par's spiritual sequel Sitaare Zameen Par, which would mark his comeback after Laal Singh Chaddha (the actor's last project was a cameo appearance in Kajol's Salaam Venky). Apart from that, the Bollywood superstar has announced that he would start working on Mahabharata soon after his upcoming film's release. The project, however, will be set as a universe a la Lord Of The Rings, Aamir Khan had confirmed.
Meanwhile, Sunny Deol is busy with Anurag Singh's Border 2, which has gone on floors with Varun Dhawan. The actor will also commence shooting for Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana soon. He is seen in the role of Lord Hanuman in the project. Apart from that, Deol has Safar which is his direct-to-OTT film. The actor has also announced Jaat 2, but there has been no update on the movie's schedule so far.
