Amid Paresh Rawal's sudden exit from Hera Pheri 3, Suniel Shetty was asked about the criticism over reports that the makers were planning to cast Kartik Aaryan.
Reacting to this, Shetty said that a film becomes iconic when you remember all the characters. He said that for Hera Pheri, it was not Suniel Shetty, Akshay Kumar, or Paresh Rawal, but about Baburao, Raju, and Shyam, in that order and even Kadak Singh, Kabira — all of them. He also gave an example of Sholay and how the characters Jai, Veeru, Basanti, Dhanno and other characters are iconic and cannot be replaced.
Reacting to Kartik Aaryan's news, Shetty said, "So Kartik’s entry was never as Raju; it was supposed to be an additional character. Today, everything is perfect between Akshay and Firoz bhai, so it should happen soon.”

Speaking to E24, Suniel Shetty said that he was shocked when he got the news of Paresh Rawal's exit from Hera Pheri 3. He shared that he, Paresh, and Akshay Kumar have already shot the trailer, so he has no idea about what happened. Suniel said that Rawal was 'quite charged' for the film and called his sudden exit 'heartbreaking.'
