Is Munawar Faruqui replacing Karan Kundrra as Lock Upp 2 jailor? Comedian reveals at OTTplay Changemakers Awards

Various reports suggested that Munawar Faruqui is replacing Karan Kundrra on Lock Upp season 2. The first season winner now has an answer for those who raised the question. Munawar spoke about the same at the recently held OTTplay Changemakers Awards.

Munawar was asked to confirm if he is actually replacing Karan on Kangana Ranaut’s show. The comedian said, “Mere bhai Karan ki jagah jailor pe koi le nahi sakta.”

The ‘comedian in spotlight’ said that he’s very excited to watch the second season of the show. “Agar second season bhi aa raha hai toh I'm looking forward to watch it,” he said.

However, Munawar left it a mystery. He said that everyone will know once something transpires.

Munawar Faruqui won Lock Upp season 1. He was finalized for Rohit Shetty’s Khatron Ke Khiladi. However, things did not work out and the comedian couldn’t join the show.

Lock Upp season 2 will stream on AltBalaji and MX Player, just like last time. The show might even start airing on TV. While it is not confirmed, there are speculations it might air on Zee TV.

Lock Upp is backed by Ekta Kapoor. Kangana Ranaut made her OTT and hosting debut with the show.

Although the list of contestants for the show is not out yet, the speculated names include Divya Agarwal, Akash Dadlani, Emiway Bantai, Soundarya Sharma and Umar Riaz. It is reported that Hina Khan and Rubina Dilaik might also join the show this time around. They might be the second jailor/warden.
