Prabhas is working on multiple films, and one of them is with director Hanu Raghavapudi, who last delivered the sleeper hit Sita Ramam, starring Dulquer Salmaan. The film's shooting was progressing at a brisk pace until Prabhas sustained an injury, leading to a temporary halt in production.
Despite this, the film has been making headlines for various reasons. The latest buzz in Telugu film circles suggests that Prabhas' film is inspired by Shah Rukh Khan’s Veer-Zaara, directed by Yash Chopra.
In Veer-Zaara, SRK plays an army officer who is imprisoned in Pakistan while searching for his love, played by Preity Zinta. Rumours claim that Prabhas' film follows a similar storyline, revolving around lost love over the years.
As this speculation gained traction, we reached out to a team member, who dismissed the reports as baseless. According to sources, apart from Prabhas playing an army officer, the rest of the rumours are entirely false. “Tentatively titled Fauji, Hanu Raghavapudi has penned an original story. It is a period drama with romance and action as its core elements,” a source revealed.
It has been a while since Prabhas appeared in a romantic role. His last romantic film, Radhe Shyam, was a major box-office disappointment. Since then, he has focused on action-packed films that cater to his fan base.
Apart from Fauji, Prabhas is also working on The Raja Saab, directed by Maruthi Dasari, and Spirit, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. Additionally, he will soon begin filming Kalki 2898 AD – Part 2.
While the rumors about Fauji have sparked excitement among fans, there is no truth to them. Stay tuned for more updates on when the film will get back on the floors.
