Is Samantha Ruth Prabhu making her Bollywood debut opposite Ayushmann Khurrana?

Samantha Ruth Prabhu's Bollywood debut has been the subject of a lot of rumours since The Family Man Season 2 premiered on Amazon Prime India. From the time the news of her Bollywood plans broke, the actor has been the subject of numerous proposals from Mumbai-based producers.

Samantha hasn't yet signed a Hindi film, according to her team, despite a number of rumours that have appeared in the media suggesting otherwise. But as per reports in Peeping Moon, the actor has finally landed her first Hindi feature, so it would appear that has changed in the past month.

The entertainment portal stated that she has signed her first Hindi film with Ayushmann Khurrana. Dinesh Vijan of Maddock Films has put together a large, lucrative project in which two celebrities from the South Indian and Hindi cinema industries will collaborate to tell a story that is original, captivating, and filled with plenty of humour and tension. 

According to people familiar with the project, the paperwork for this movie has been finished, and the producers are currently talking with the actors' teams about filming schedules. It's all being kept under wraps right now, including the identity of the filmmaker, but sources say it's definitely happening and might start before the year is up.

A source told the entertainment portal that Samantha has a prestigious record behind her and has been working in movies for the previous 12 years. She was searching for assignments that would be intriguing enough for her to spend time away from her job in the South when she began to seriously consider a Bollywood career after receiving praise and honours for her work in Raj and DK's spy thriller series. 

In the past eight to nine months, she has received offers for dozens of movies and web series, but only a select handful have been able to titillate her enough to merit consideration. One of the most intriguing scripts Samantha has ever read is for Dinesh Vijan's movie, and there is no way she could have given it to anybody else.

The source further told the portal that Samantha will play the main character in the movie, with Ayushmann Khurrana playing a parallel lead, making it the ideal Bollywood debut for her. The source added that Maddock Films plans to mount it on a large scale and release it somewhere in late 2023. They anticipate that after Samantha completes her current commitments and Ayushmann wraps up filming for Raaj Shaandilya's Dream Girl 2, which opens in a North Indian city next month, the movie will begin production.
