Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah makers have been in a fix after every character had been leaving the show one-after-another. Although they have managed to replace most except Dayaben (despite being in controversy), the news about another member of the cast quitting just keeps coming to light. The latest person believed to be giving up on the show was Palak Sindhwani, who plays the role of Sonu on Asit Kumarr Modi’s show. This comes a month after the original Sonu Jheel Mehta’s news of roka ceremony with her fiancé, Aditya Dube.
Palak shared a video before turning 26. The actress, who celebrated her birthday on April 11, had shared the clip in which she said that the episode she shot for would be her last episode.
What people missed out on is that Palak, who plays Sonu on TMKOC, actually meant that it is the last episode before she turns 26. The video was just to tease her fans, TellyChakkar reports, and sure enough, she did.
There are many actors who have quit the longest-running show on TV. The most recent dispute was between Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal who played Roshan Singh Sodhi on the show and the producer Asit Modi. Jennifer accused Asit of sexual harassment and she won the case. She quit the show and was replaced by Dilkhush Reporter and later, Monaz Mevawalla.
The original Taarak Mehta, Shailesh Lodha, also quit the show and cited that Asit had not paid him for his role for a considerable time. He was replaced by Sachin Shroff. Neha Mehta, who played the role of his on-screen wife Anjali also quit the show and was replaced by Sunayana Fozdar.
Palak herself is the third actress to play Sonu after Jheel and Nidhi Bhanushali. Tapu, who is the lead among the children on the show, was also replaced twice. Bhavya Gandhi played the original role and Raj Anadkat was seen as Tapu till 2022. He was replaced by Nitish Bhaluni.
