While Suryakumar Yadav (68) tried to save India's sinking ship against South Africa in their third Super 12 ICC Men's T20 World Cup clash, the Proteas had Aiden Markram (52) and David Miller (59*) both build a crucial partnership.

The exceptional batting from Markram and Miller and splendid bowling from Lungi Ngidi, who took four wickets, saw South Africa win by 5 wickets.

While fans, especially Pakistani fans were unhappy with India's loss, some Indian fans compared this defeat to that of what had happened in 2011.

In 2011, 50-over World Cup, India lost to South Africa. Now, this is the first time South Africa has beaten India in an ICC event since defeating them in Nagpur.

Fans believe this could be a sign that the 2022 World Cup trophy will be coming home yet again.

As for the clash, the Indian batters, barring Suryakumar Yadav, struggled to get going. The Men in Blue lost nine wickets and managed to score just 133 runs.

Coming in to defend their score, the Indian pacers put their opposition under pressure with the swing.

Arshdeep Singh bowled a superb over removing Quinton de Kock and Rilee Rossouw in his very first over.

Mohammed Shami and Hardik Pandya backed the new-ball bowlers with disciplined bowling and at the halfway stage, the score read 40/3.

However, Markram and Miller upped the ante straight after the drinks break. Hardik managed to break the partnership, but Miller knew he had to finish the game for his side. He managed to do the same in the final over of the game.
