Ever since today morning, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’s ‘Tappu’ alias Raj Anadkat’s mobile phone must not have stopped ringing from his friends and relatives who must have been calling him up to either congratulate him on his engagement with Munmun Dutta aka Babitaji or must have been calling him up to clarify whether the rumours are true or false. After the news about Raj Anadkat’s reported engagement with Munmun Dutta started gaining momentum, the former’s team took to social media and issued a clarification. On his behalf, Raj Anadkat’s team put the entire buzz to rest by stating, ‘Hello everyone. Just to clear things up, the news you have been seeing on social media is false and baseless. Team Raj Anadkat’.
'Ridiculous, fake and ludicrous’
On her part, Munmun Dutta replied to ETimes (on text), wherein she stated that the (said) news was ‘ridiculous, fake and ludicrous’ with zero ounce of truth in it. She also added that she just did not want to give her energy to this fake thing that kept coming up again and again’.
For the unversed, a news article which had come on the News18 website, had reported that both (Munmun Dutta and Raj Anadkat) had exchanged rings in an intimate ceremony in Vadodara, Gujarat a few days back. The report suggests that contrary to what Munmun and Raj claim, they have been dating since the latter joined TMKOC as Tapu. It added that most people on sets knew and some were sure that they would end up getting married.
The present-day status is that, while Munmun Datta still continues to be portraying the role of Babitaji in the hit serial Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, Raj Anadkat, on the other hand had announced his exit from the show in December 2022.
