The Pavan Wadeyar directorial has Ishan and Ashika play contrasting musicians, one a rockstar and the other a classical vocalist.
Director Pavan Wadeyar’s Raymo , which marks his return to the romance genre, after Googly, is gearing up for release. The film, which began before the pandemic broke out and was, since then, completed in various schedules whenever lockdown relaxations were announced, is in the final stages of post-production. A music-based love story, the film stars Ishan CV (of Rogue fame) and Ashika Ranganath in the lead.
Ishan plays a rockstar, while Ashika is a classical musician and while they come from such vastly contrasting schools of music, circumstances force them to work together. The film then revolves around their professional collaboration, which then extends to a personal bond as well. Raymo, which is Ishan’s second Kannada film, required the actor to train for a couple of months on how to handle a double-neck guitar to convincingly play a rockstar.
Raymo, produced by Manohar CR, also stars Madhoo (who was last seen in Kotigobba 3), Sarath Kumar, Prabhu Mundkur, Karunya Ram, among others. According to a source, the team of Raymo has begun planning its release strategy. “The team is looking at a tentative date in May, as March and April are already packed with several big-ticket releases, including James and KGF in Kannada, among others. The buzz in the industry is that Vikrant Rona is being planned for a May release, but we have it on good authority that it maybe delayed as far as June or even July. As such, we are now looking at planning Raymo for May 6,” says a source on condition of anonymity.
The film, which has music by Arjun Janya, also sees Pavan collaborate with cinematographer Vaidy S yet again after Googly, Rana Vikrama, Natasaarvabhowma, and will be released in Tamil and Telugu as well.
